Frodo & Bilbo are doing well and have been enjoying the spring sunshine in North Devon recently. They are such good friends, doing everything together and here they are getting in the mood for a little bodyboarding with a quick practice on dry land first. Could they be the first bodyboarding lambs seen on Croyde beach?!

Watch this space for more news of Frodo & Bilbo or why not come and meet them in person? We’ve several great offers on our website www.widmouthfarmcottages.co.uk and with spring literally bursting forth – primroses, daffodils, lambs…… – it really is a great time to visit. Hope to see you soon

Devon bathed in sunshine but low, low temperatures
We’ve been enjoying truly fabulous wintry weather this week with freezing temperatures and blue, blue skies. Just wonderful to walk on the beach – Putsborough in this case – wrapped up warm and blow away the cobwebs. Returning home to a cosy fire, a welcome hot chocolate and some family games – Charades is always a favourite.
The views around the coastline are absolutely stunning, on a clear day we can see right across the Channel to Wales!
February Half Term Holidays
We are looking forward to welcoming our guests at February half term – our first busy period in the year. There are still a few cottages available if you’re looking for a last minute break (details on our Home Page www.widmouthfarmcottages.co.uk )
Special Offers in February & March
Alternatively, if you’re looking to escape and relax, avoiding the school holidays then take advantage of our dogs go free offer or an extra night free when you book a short break. These great offers apply for all holidays taken before March 30th, you will need to telephone to book so give me a call on 01271 863743

Congratulations to everyone on Exmoor who has worked so hard to gain this recognition! We hope all our visitors will really appreciate Exmoor’s dark, starry skies! Here is what it means:

“Definition of Dark Sky Reserve:: a public or private land possessing an exceptional or distinguished quality of starry nights and nocturnal environment that is specifically protected for its scientific, natural, educational, cultural, heritage and/or public enjoyment mission of a large peripheral area. The International Dark Sky Reserve consists of a core area meeting the minimum criteria for sky quality and natural darkness, and a peripheral area that supports dark sky values in the core and receives benefits from them as well. The International Dark Sky Reserve is formed through a partnership of multiple land owners and/or administrators that have recognized the value of the starry night through regulation and/or formal agreement and/or long term planning.”
