MAIN HOLIDAYS
Widmouth Farm Cottages is a marvellous place to stay for your Annual Holiday and there is an amazing amount to do both on the farm and in the local area. Whether you come for a week or a fortnight, it never seems long enough! Just look at the ‘Activities at Widmouth’ page and the ‘Local Area’ page following this for some ideas of what to do and where to visit.

To help you ‘beat the traffic’ in the main season, we take bookings from Friday to Friday between mid-May and the end of September and in school holidays. This also means that when we take short breaks it is easy to take bookings Friday to Monday and Monday to Friday.

ADULT ONLY HOLIDAYS: RELAXATION AND ROMANCE
Whether the ‘kids have flown the nest’ or you have no children, this is a wonderful place to relax and ‘get away from it all’. The most common comments from guests who have stayed here are ‘fantastic peace and quiet’ and ‘unmatchable scenery’.

Five of our ten cottages are over 200 years old, the others are re-built on the site of old garages, stables and a piggery. The oldest cottages do of course have the most charm, these are Pheasant Cottage and Partridge Cottage which have wonderful sea views from their upstairs bedrooms and Round Barn with its open beams. Robin Cottage and Wren Cottage are small and cosy and perfect for 2 people – whether you want to be out and about or just to ‘relax and switch off’. There is always a warm welcome and someone on hand should any help be needed – yet you have total privacy too!

We offer comfortable, clean, unpretentious/practical accommodation and try to make life easy for you. Groceries can be delivered in advance. There is a home cooked meal service. Organic and local produce is available. Mid-week cleaning service is an optional extra.
Mobile telephones do not receive a signal here, unless you climb the Headland Field, but there is a coin box for emergency calls/taxis. Back to Top

FAMILY HOLIDAYS
With pre-school children: The only problem is you may have tears if you are not here for the daily animal feeding/egg collecting session! We try to arrange this for late afternoon, just before most children have their tea. Of course the beach with its wonderful rockpools, the sand, the woods and the old Coastguard’s Lookout (now called The Summer House) are great favourites too and we have swings and slides in the orchard.
There are many local establishments that cater for younger children, from indoor play areas ideal when it rains, to beautiful gardens to run in, National Trust valleys and coastal land to explore and Exmoor Zoo and the theme parks.
School age children: We have so many regulars that you need to book early to come here in the school holidays! Our own private beach and our farm animals are a particular attraction. Also see the following two pages: Activities at Widmouth & Local Area!

HOLIDAYS WITH DOGS
Dogs are welcome here, usually not more than 2 per cottage and we charge £20 per dog, per week or £15 for a short break. We have a ‘dog exercise field’ which is ‘sheep free’ and fully fenced and gated, so they may be off the lead for a run or a ball game. Dogs may visit our beach and use the coastal footpath around our property – it is up to you if you are comfortable with them off the lead in these areas. We ask you to keep dogs out of the bedrooms (stairgates can be provided free) and either off the furniture or to bring your own clean, hair free, covers. Back to Top

SHORT BREAKS & WEEKENDS AWAY
You can book a short break well in advance for any dates between the beginning of October and mid-May (excluding school holidays). We prefer to take bookings that run Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday, but if we are not too busy and you cannot do that combination of days we will try to be flexible, just discuss it with us!
Between mid-May and the end of September we only take short break or weekend bookings if we have a cancellation or a gap in the bookings.
2 nights is a minimum stay and costs 40% of the weekly price, 3 nights is 60%, 4 nights is 75% and 5 nights is 85%. 6 nights is the same price as a full week.

Group weekends/short breaks: In total we can accommodate 46 people. If you come as a group we ask you to be VERY CONSIDERATE of anyone else staying here, also to ensure you leave all the kitchen equipment in the cottage it was in when you arrived! All cottages have just one bathroom or shower room with a lavatory in that room. We reserve the right to ask for a (refundable) deposit against damage. Back to Top

Round Barn - Sleeps 4 + cot 1 x DB + cot, 1 x TB (loft room with banisters
above sitting room on one side) – 2 bedrooms
Heron Cottage - Sleeps 5 + cot 1 x DB, 1 x TSB + cot (2 bedrooms)
Kingfisher Cottage - Sleeps 5 + cot 1 x DB, 1 x TSB + cot (2 bedrooms)
Kestrel Cottage - Sleeps 4 + cot 1 x DB + cot, 1 x TB (2 bedrooms)
Swallow Cottage - Sleeps 3 (+1), 1x DB, 1 x SB (can have either 'put you up bed' or cot but not both) – 2 bedrooms
Martin Cottage - Sleeps 3 (+1), 1 x DB, 1 x SB (can have either 'put you up bed' or cot but not both) – 2 bedrooms
Wren Cottage - Sleeps 2 only 1 x DB (no space for a cot or a Z bed)

Robin Cottage - Sleeps 2 only 1 x DB (no space for a cot or a Z bed)
Total 40 people in 11 double beds (22 people) and 16 single beds (16 people) and 2 bunks (2 people) plus maximum of 8 cots. 20 bedrooms altogether, between the 10 cottages.
